Peter Alford Sr.
FOUNDER & MANAGING ATTORNEY

For more than three decades, attorney Peter Alford Sr. has been a trusted advocate for families, individuals, and businesses across LaGrange and beyond. Rooted in a deep love for his hometown and a lifelong passion for the law, Peter has built a career defined by integrity, compassion, and results.
A Lifelong Commitment to the Law.
From a young age, Peter knew he was meant to be an attorney. Inspired by his father, Howard Alford, and his family’s tradition of public service, Peter pursued his law degree at Mercer University School of Law, graduating in 1986. Shortly thereafter, he returned home to LaGrange to begin what would become a distinguished career of service to his community.
In 1988, Peter was sworn in as a Special Assistant Attorney General (SAAG), representing the Department of Family and Children Services in Troup, Meriwether, Heard, and Coweta Counties. This role gave him extensive courtroom experience while shaping his commitment to protecting families and children. That early work sparked what would grow into a thriving domestic relations practice that remains a cornerstone of his career today.
Practice Areas & Experience
Over the years, Peter has represented clients in nearly every area of the law — from personal injury and family law to civil litigation and criminal defense. His cases have spanned Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama, and he has successfully secured millions of dollars for injured clients. Known in the courtroom as a “threshold lawyer” — someone who can help solve even the toughest problems — Peter has built a reputation as a steady, determined advocate who stands by his clients through life’s most challenging moments.
In addition to his private practice, Peter spent 25 years as a partner in a LaGrange law firm before opening his own practice, The Alford Law Group, LLC. Most recently, he and his son, Peter “PT” Alford Jr., rebranded the office to reflect their shared commitment to continuing the family tradition of legal service in LaGrange.
